Western View Hospital is a 100-bed capacity facility that has been
serving the local community for over 80 years. They have recently
modernized their patient records platform and want to ensure their
Information Technology infrastructure is HIPAA, PII, and PHI compliant. It
is critical for their business to protect electronic health records, financial
records, and other Personally Identifiable information. It is also a legal
requirement for the hospital’s continued operation. Patient information is
typically entered into a patient records database, wirelessly, via a laptop or
tablet. The hospital also has medical equipment that uses the wireless
network. Western view hospital provides guest wireless access for patient
convenience. The hospital has an onsite data center that houses
networking equipment such as routers, servers, and firewalls. Prehard
was contracted to conduct a network-level penetration test of internal and
external facing hosts.
